Are you intolerant to yeast? Don't know what that means? Well, an intolerance to yeast is when a person's system has a negative reaction to any kinds of food that contain candida. For a better understanding of what candida is it's the fungus used when making a a wide variety of food items and drinks most people have on a day to day basis. An intolerance to a certain type of item should not be mistaken for with a food allergy. An intolerance to food is not as bad and also doesn't negatively affect a person's immune system. When part of one of the ingredients in food yeast causes a reaction that allows dough to rise. In order to stay away from the above types of candida one must do away with foods like rolls, bagels, buns, English muffins, pizza crust and sandwich breads.
Unleavened breads, tortilla and pita bread for example don't have any yeast and are for that reason better to consume. In this day and age there are also a variety of breads specifically manufactured to be candida free. These yeast intolerant friendly breads can oftentimes be located at healthier grocery stores. If ever a doubt, be sure to read at the ingredients on the nutritional label of the item to see if any candida is included.
Cookies and Cake
A large variety of cakes and cookies, either homemade or bought a store, are made with a kind of baker's yeast. Eliminating these kinds of foods can be difficult and may lead to intense cravings. Don't worry though because may kinds of pie, ice creams and custards aren't made with candida. Check out your neighborhood grocery stores for specially prepared candida free desserts and baking mixes made free of yeast.
Alcohol
A kind of yeast referred to as brewer's is used in fermented alcoholic beverages. Drinks like wine, hard cider, beer, sake and kvass are all made with this kind of yeast and need to be cut out from your diet. If you feel your intolerant to yeast please avoid drinks made with brewer's yeast. I know it's difficult but your system will thank you for it.
Snack Foods
Many of the usual snack foods people enjoy like pretzels and crackers are created with some kind of yeast. The amount of alternative yeast free snack foods is getting larger and they are pretty simple to make yourself. You may want to also consider adding more fruits and veggies to your list of snacks as these types of items provide a large amount of nutrional value and will benefit your health and immune system without creating any uneeded candida to your digestive system.
